Links of London 2008 Sponsorship Henry Arundel
Links of London is proud to be the title sponsor for Henry Arundel’s exciting debut season in motor sports international British Formula Three.
Just 20 years old and considered one of Great Britain’s up and coming young talents, Henry has an impressive record to date. He started karting at the age of 12, achieving success at top British and European level. In 2006, he moved to racing cars, competing in the UK Formula BMW series becoming rookie champion in his first year and third overall in the championship in 2007.
Henry was one of six drivers selected as finalists for the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Young British Driver of the Year Award for 2007 and is involved with the Motorsport Associations Elite Young Driver Scheme.
2008 looks set to be an incredible year for Henry. He’s been signed up by Raikkonen Robertson Racing (Double R Racing) in the international British Formula Three Championship. Double R Racing is one of the top F3 teams owned by Formula One World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen and his racing manager Steve Robertson.
Henry’s two year target is to achieve podium finishes in Formula Three in the first season and win the championship outright the year after. International Formula Three is a recognised stepping stone to Henry’s ultimate goal, a seat in a Formula One team.
To mark the beginning of Henry’s inaugural year in Formula Three, Links of London have developed a new edition to the Driver watch collection launched in AW07.
The Driver Chicane Chronograph PVD watch features a highly scratch resistant stainless steel case. Coated in titanium PVD (a powder vaporised deposit) this a sports watch adapted for F3 race conditions.
Henry Arundel says “As an F3 driver, I need a watch I can rely on in extreme conditions and my Driver Chicane Chronograph watch has never missed a beat. It’s a great looking watch and I wear it every where I go.”
Andrew Marshall, Managing Director
Links of London
“Links of London are incredibly keen to support young British talent which is why we are delighted to sponsor Henry at such an important time in his career.
It was an exciting opportunity to develop a watch for Henry from our already established Driver range. With flexible lugs for maximum comfort on the wrist in any position combined
with high performance materials, our new Driver Chicane Chronograph is suitable for the testing conditions of F3.
We have very high hopes for him and his first season in F3 and who knows? With his feet firmly on the ground and his sights set high, he could be challenging the likes of Lewis Hamilton in the not to distant future.”
